Financial Hardship - The unfortunate current state of affairs

Let’s face it: post-covid times are tough. Inflation is at its highest and is one catalyst for the erosion of financial stability of hard-working Canadians. Stagnant wages and higher living costs are causing Canadians to feel increased pressure and stress from the possibility of being unable to afford necessities.

Another contributing factor for increased stress is the absence of financial resources and training being made available to Canadians. There are no school programs that teach our youth how to budget or save, and most Canadian adults are learning financial literacy from social media and books that may not have their best interest in mind. This is a problem.

The percentage of Canadians aged 35 to 44 struggling to cover their expenses and this rate is even higher for those who are younger.

Canadians has had to borrow money in order to buy groceries.

Over half of all Canadians have no budget set up to monitor their cash inflows and outflows.

A path for change.

Skillbox was designed to assist Canadians with the growing need for financial literacy and financial planning. Through Skillbox’s Financial Tools, Online Videos, and In Person Training Programs, Canadians can learn the fundamentals of financial literacy and start taking back control of their finances and savings.

Here at skillbox, we are a team of educators and financial professionals with the goal to support Canadians with improving their knowledge of financial management. By giving Canadians the tools and training required to organize their personal finances we believe Canadians can reduce their financial stress and begin making informed financial decisions related to savings, debt, planned purchases, and retirement.
