The construction industry is the backbone of our economy. Skilled tradespeople work on a variety of construction and infrastructure projects like high-rise, low-rise, and residential buildings, bridges, highways, roads, demolition, sewers, water mains, sidewalks, curbs, and lots more! In Southwestern Ontario, members are represented by the regional chapter of LiUNA, called a 'local'. Local 1059 represents approximately 5,000 construction workers and industrial/service sector workers employed in and beyond Grey, Bruce, Middlesex, Oxford, Huron, Elgin and Perth counties. Local 1059 is a training partner on this project.
